Peanut Butter Smoothie

Protein shakes aren’t everyone’s favourite after surgery so in this recipe I’ve used less powder and more milk to make sure the protein content is still sufficient. With 22g protein per serve, it’s a great breakfast option that will keep you going all morning.

  • Prep: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 2 Cups

Ingredients:

  • 1 small frozen banana
  • 400ml calci trim milk
  • 1 tbsp protein powder (I used NZ Protein’s peanut butter pea protein)
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Cocoa powder for dusting (optional)

Method:

  1. Allow the banana to defrost on the bench for 10 minutes before peeling and adding into a blender
  2. Add the remaining ingredients except for the cocoa and blitz until well combined
  3. Pour into two glasses and dust with extra cocoa if you would like
