If you are drawn to salty, savoury flavours or you simply need something to warm you up between meals, a mug of miso soup can be a satisfying choice. It will contribute to your overall fluid intake for the day and takes minimal effort to prepare. Miso soup can be found in the tinned soups or legumes isle at the supermarket or visit an Asian supermarket if you have one nearby.

Add more or less hot water to adjust the saltiness to your preference.

  • Prep: 5 Minutes
  • Portions: 1 Cup

Ingredients:

  • 1 sachet of miso soup
  • 300-350ml boiling water
  • a few sliced spring onions and/or tiny cubes of tofu (optional)

Method:

  1. Squeeze the contents of the miso soup sachet into a mug
  2. Add the boiling water and stir
  3. Top with sliced spring onions and cubes of tofu if using and enjoy
